Proverbs 3:21-26 21 My child, don't lose sight of good
planning and insight. Hang on to them, 22 for they fill you with life and bring
you honor and respect. 23 They keep you safe on your way and keep your feet
from stumbling. 24 You can lie down without fear and enjoy pleasant dreams. 25
You need not be afraid of disaster or the destruction that comes upon the
wicked, 26 for the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being
caught in a trap.

Jeremiah 39:15 The LORD had given the following message to
Jeremiah while he was still in prison: 16 "Say to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian,
F94 'The LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will do to this city
everything I have threatened. I will send disaster, not prosperity. You will
see its destruction, 17 but I will rescue you from those you fear so much. 18
Because you trusted me, I will preserve your life and keep you safe. I, the
LORD, have spoken!'"

Matthew 6:25-34 25 "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday
life – whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist
of more than food and clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don't need to plant
or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And
you are far more valuable to him than they are. 27 Can all your worries add a
single moment to your life? Of course not. 28 "And why worry about your
clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their
clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as
they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today
and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith!
31 "So don't worry about having enough food or drink or clothing. 32 Why be
like the pagans who are so deeply concerned about these things? Your heavenly
Father already knows all your needs, 33 and he will give you all you need from
day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary
concern. 34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own
worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.

Mt 10:28 "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill you. They
can only kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can
destroy both soul and body in hell.

timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

1 John 4:17-21 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more
perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him
with confidence because we are like Christ here in this world. 18 Such love has
no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear
of judgment, and this shows that his love has not been perfected in us. 19 We
love each other as a result of his loving us first. 20 If someone says, "I love
God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we
don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen? 21
And God himself has commanded that we must love not only him but our Christian
brothers and sisters, too.
