| People have always found it helpful
to talk to someone who is on their side, someone who is a good listener, who
cares about you, who is patient, encouraging, and
hopeful. If the listener also has training, knowledge, and experience on
your particular concern, that is also most helpful.
While seeking direction or a listening ear from someone objective to your
private life and conflicts certainly has it’s place and can be helpful, the
Christian counselor does not seek to be objective. He or she (and all
Christians) is charged by God to love others. That means the Christian
counselor is for you, is for what is good for your relationships and your life,
your behavior, your emotions, your future. more...
